Pierce Park PTO

We are a non-profit, tax-exempt organization (501c3 corporation). We partner with the school to enhance our community by providing fun and educational experiences for the students and support and good will for the PP staff and families. There are no dues. If you have a child at Pierce Park, you are a member.

Examples of what we do: grants for teachers so that they can buy items to be used in your student’s classroom; funds for and help with our school’s food bank; monthly luncheons, prepared by parents and guardians, for the staff; t-shirts for the Math Meet participants and kindergarten kits at registration; a yearbook for every child; art and classroom supplies (classroom PA systems, for example); memories of Science Night, friendship flowers, STEAM week, and carnivals.

Want to help? Talk to us. Come to a meeting. Look for our Volunteer Spot emails – details about events and opportunities to sign up to help.  Click “Contact Us” below to send a message to the PTO board.  You can also check us out on Instagram using the link below.

All of our events are on the school’s calendar as well.

History

Early 1900's

At the start of the 1900s, the land where Pierce Park sits was a destination park. It included cabins and a man made lake. It was a popular weekend getaway for Boise residents. The park was accessible only by the Boise Trolley Loop.

1920

Pierce Park student body in 1920. The original school building stood from 1911 - 1932 when it was destroyed in a fire. The only known images of the building are found in the background of images like this one.

1951

In 1951 two classrooms, an office and an auditorium/lunchroom were added.

1986

In 1986 Pierce Park celebrated the 75th anniversary of the school with a huge community party. The new flagpole was dedicated to alumni families. The Pierce family gifted a portrait of Walter Pierce to the school.
